The economy of the United Arab Emirates has seen significant growth, placing it among the top in several economic indicators, such as per capita income and per capita energy consumption. The gross domestic product (GDP) reached $414 billion in 2018.[10] The UAE is ranked second among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, after Saudi Arabia, which ranks first. The UAE is also ranked third in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, after Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and 29th globally, according to World Bank estimates in 2018. Notably, the UAE in general, and Abu Dhabi in particular, have one of the highest concentrations of millionaires in the world, with over 75,000 people, accounting for 8.8% of the population.
