The economy of Nepal in 2025 is growing and heavily dependent on tourism, remittances, and agriculture. Although only a small portion of the land is suitable for cultivation, more than 65% of the population is employed in agriculture. The GDP is significantly influenced by exports and remittances, particularly those related to clothing, carpets, and agricultural goods. With large-scale projects under way to meet domestic demand and export to India, hydropower represents Nepal’s greatest economic potential. Development is still aided by foreign aid and modest investments, but issues like inadequate infrastructure, reliance on trade, and environmental stresses still exist.
