Workers from various countries, including Myanmar nationals, have been escaping a massive online money laundering operation near the town of Myawaddy, located on the Thailand-Myanmar border in Karen State. The operation, based in Mae Htaow Ta Li, In Kyin Myay, and Min Let Pam, has led to workers fleeing for safety since the morning of October 22, 2025, as reported by local residents.

According to reports, the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF/KNA) and the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA) have control over the Dong My, Hwanya, and Pali parks. Workers from online money laundering sites in KK and Shonda parks are now on the run after news spread that the military commission had launched attacks and made several arrests.

A resident of In Kyin Miang confirmed to Mizima that: “They’ve been at KK Park since last night. They’ve shown no intention of fighting with the BGF. This morning, Brigadier General Saw Tin Win (BGF/KNA) released all the Chinese nationals from the area. They were told they could go wherever they wanted.”
