On October 27, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between China and Myanmar, marking a key step toward enhancing tourism collaboration between the two nations. The Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) announced the partnership, which was formalized with the Dehong Prefecture’s travel association during the sixth China-Myanmar Think Tank Forum in Mangshi, located in the People’s Republic of China.
The tourism sectors of both countries stand to benefit from more structured and efficient cooperation, with plans to improve travel accessibility, cultural exchange, and sustainable tourism practices. This collaboration is expected to encourage an influx of Chinese tourists to Myanmar, as well as provide Myanmar citizens with better opportunities to explore China.
